Canada’s largest tulip festival will bloom in BC next month

Spring is right around the corner and that means the tulips will soon be in bloom.

The spot to go for tulips, of course, is the Harrison Tulip Festival, which will open to the public next month for what will be the 20th edition split between Agassiz and Chilliwack.

“The exact opening date is based on bloom conditions, so expect an official opening announcement in the coming weeks,” organizers say.

Considered Canada’s largest tulip festival, the display in the Fraser Valley boasts 150 varieties of tulips planted across 45 acres.

It typically runs for four weeks, offering guests a chance to lose themselves in the colour as they roam through endless dazzling rows of tulips.

“More than 14 million spring blooms – including vibrant tulips, cheerful daffodils and fragrant hyacinths – will create a breathtaking, photo-ready landscape,” a release explains.

As you might expect, it’s a great place to get some photos to show off on social media, as it was named the World’s Best Instagrammable Tulip Farm at the 2024 World Tulip Summit in Holland.

Beyond the stunning display of flowers, the Harrison Tulip Festival also features food trucks, live music, yoga sessions, bouquet-making workshops, yard games and plenty more for entertainment.

New additions to this year’s festival in the Bloom Bar and Night Garden will allow people to make their own bouquets and flower crowns, as well as explore the magical display at night.

Tickets to the Harrison Tulip Festival, located at 5039 Lougheed Hwy. in Agassiz, will vary in price depending on the age and time booked.
