Ahead of Halloween on Saturday, the Lake Country Fire Department is reminding residents that fireworks are not permitted in the community.
In a short video posted to the District’s social media this week, deputy fire chief Brent Penner explains why.
“(It’s) because the fire department goes to a lot of fires (and) a lot of injuries because of those fireworks,” Penner notes.
While that may be disappointing to some, there is still a great chance to take in a fireworks show in Lake Country on Halloween.
The District is hosting the community at Beasley Park on Saturday night for a bonfire and fireworks show. There will also be free hot dogs and hot chocolate to enjoy.
The bonfire will kick off at 6:30 pm and last for two hours until the fireworks wrap up the night at 8:30 pm.
“Bring your family and friends and wear your costumes,” the District says. “Please leave your pets at home, as loud noises from the fireworks can be frightening and stressful for animals.”
